In recent years, the field of biomolecular mass spectrometry has grown rapidly through the introduction of various new methods. The course aims to give an overview of the present state-of-the-art in Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry, highlighting several recent applications in chemistry, pharmacy, biology and medicine.
For who:
The advanced Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry course is meant for those who wish to learn more about the new developments in mass spectrometry and how they may contribute to their own area of research. Additionally, the course is also meant for active mass spectrometrists who want to update or broaden their knowledge in the area of biomedical applications.
The advanced Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry course (a one week course) will cover in depth several topics and applications of MS in the field of Proteomics.
Topics:
- Introduction to MS
- Protein ID
- Peptide ID
- Peptide/protein separation
- Quantitative Proteomics; generating QP data-techniques and using QP data
- Protein Modifications and Interplay
- TOP-DOWN, Native MS and Structural Biology
- Cross Omics
Each day will start at 9:00 and ends around 16.30
The Goals of this course:
At the end of the course, the student will have in depth knowledge on the applications of Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry as applied in Life Science Research.
This Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry course is an ‘advanced’ course, which means you must have a basic level of Mass Spectrometry knowledge.
Within the Utrecht University this level can be obtained by following the “Massaspectrometrie en Proteomics” Course given within the Molecular Life Sciences (MLS).
The Osiris code: SK-B2MSPR.
If you have attended other introductionary courses somewhere else, than that is great as well.
